Food scraps and other compostable materials can be taken to farmers markets in Dorchester, Allston and Jamaica Plain through October.

From the week of August 5 through October, Boston residents can drop off their compostable food scraps for free at farmers markets in Dorchester, Allston and Jamaica Plain, part of a pilot residential composting program that is part of the Greenovate Boston initiative. Materials will be converted into compost for a local farm.

over 9 years agoIs there a study which shows what works best, residents dropping the food waste at some designated place or city picking up? Success of a program highly depends on how residents respond / or feel convenient to do what is expected.. what do you think?
