Saving Water: How Scarcity and Misuse Threatens Our Planet
Water is an essential resource to sustain life, but current studies indicate that 1.1 billion people lack access to water, with 2.7 billion experiencing water scarcity at least one month a year. Global governments place a high priority to deliver adequate quality water supplies, but water stocks safe for drinking are depleting and serious measures for conservation must be introduced now.
Domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning, right through to large scale manufacturing and distribution, consume excessive amounts of the earth’s most precious resource. Since only 1% of the earth’s water is available for human consumption, we need to reduce the amount of water we use.
This infographic from Dales Water Services highlights the problems our planet is facing, the main drivers behind this lack of water and perhaps most importantly, suggestions on how businesses and individuals can help reduce their water footprint.
