Sewing Seeds exists to empower local women of Mateves Village in Tanzania needing a means of support for themselves and their families, while enabling them to fulfill their greatest life's potential.
The works serves not just as a means of financial assistance for the tailors, but as a network of social support that will provide the atmosphere of encouragement and positivity these women need to grow and flourish as individuals.
Sewing Seeds is a tailoring school located in Mateves Village, near Arusha, Tanzania. They seek out women facing difficult situations, such as raising children as a single mother, having little or no source of income or simply those who are looking for a greater sense of fulfillment through work.
Sewing Seeds trains the women to sew, which is a process that takes anywhere from six months to a year. After the tailors master the skill, they supply them with sufficient resources to create designs of dresses, purses, aprons, yoga mat bags, skirts, and pants.
100% of all profit earned through Sewing Seeds is distributed among the tailors and their families, micro-financing projects within the village, educational sponsorships, and materials and resources for the tailors.
